The Fisher 500c is a great tube receiver that will surprise you if you think old tube audio are muffled and tubby. Very smooth yet detailed with no top-end roll-off like some say about tubes. Tube rolling is cool too. If is quit amazing the differences in sound you can achieve with replacing some 12AX7th.4.8/5(22)
Mar 16, 2019 · The 500c is one of the Best FISHER made but it has competition internally from the 500B (which can be argued to be the Best FM only TUBE receiver FISHER ever made). If FM Multiplex is not an issue I would put up the TA-800 and the TA-600 (7189) in the competition. Also the EARLY Version of the 400. and the 500S.
Jun 05, 2011 · The FISHER 500C works great, in original great condition with fair cabinet (needs polishing up), right now powering my Rogers BBC LS3/5a speakers with no problem (and those are hard speakers to drive). All tubes work, restored just enough to keep it stock and still work at its best.
